Reception Staff

Hello and Welcome to Walmsley CE School.

Below you will find lots of useful links, documents for life in Reception at Walmsley.

PE and Woodland

Our PE days are currently Wednesday and Fridays.

Woodland dates each term will be sent out via our messaging service and newsletter. Children come to school dressed in their PE kit or woodland clothes if they are in the woods on those days.

Snacks

We provide children with a healthy snack each day. They are welcome to bring in their own if they prefer.

All children will need a named, clear water bottle each day.

Reading

Reading books and diaries are collected on a Thursday and a new book sent home on a Friday. The sounds and tricky words that your child has been taught that week will be written in their diary. Children can also take home a book from our class library to share. They can change this as often as they would like. 

Tapestry

We use the online journal Tapestry to share special moments with you about your child's learning journey. You too can use Tapestry to share special moments from home with staff. 

EYFS Curriculum

Outdoor Learning!

Please come to school dressed in your woodland clothes. Wellies/welly socks need to be brought in a plastic bag along with gloves and a hat if it is cold or sunhat if it is hot. Please bring to school: water proof pants or a waterproof suit, a fleece and a water proof coat. Please ensure your child has an appropriate coat to wear for the weather. Thank you. We will go out in all weather except if it is icy or very windy. Thank you.
